Oak Street Health
On October 21, 2021, just eight years after its inception, RubiconMD was acquired by Oak Street Health, Inc. (NYSE: OSH), a network of value-based primary care centers for adults on Medicare.
RubiconMD and Oak Street Health are integrating virtual specialty care into the existing care model at Oak Street Health. Together we are evolving primary care to deliver streamlined referral processes, more comprehensive care plans, and more efficient specialty care. For patients, this means higher-quality, convenient care, at a lower cost.
Oak Street Health is on a mission to rebuild healthcare as it should be, which we are doing by focusing on preventive care and driving more resources into the primary care setting. Like traditional primary care, specialty care is broken for older adults, but together with RubiconMD, we can rebuild it into a model that meets patient needs.

In 2013, Gil and Carlos launched RubiconMD, driven by their passion for improving access to medical expertise through technology. They envisioned a solution to enable primary care physicians to virtually consult with specialists, believing this would dramatically improve the patient experience while driving down healthcare costs. They were right. Today, RubiconMD serves over 8,000 primary care clinicians, leading the way in virtual specialty care.
